Dr. Mark Burgess and Dr. Melinda Surrency [Dr. Katrina Ramsell is no longer there] are the experts in town. They are the referred vet from the other offices for surgery and specialty care. I've been going to them since 2001 (before?) with good results. They have a long history of treating ferrets, guinea pigs, rabbits, and reptiles.

Dr. Surrency also works at Hillsboro Veterinary Clinic.

Sahara_beara mentioned that these folks don't have X-ray capability. Yes, they do. I have no idea how long ago you might have been there or what the story was at the time but when I took my piggie in just recently, she was X-rayed on site and her bladder stone diagnosed as a result.

Glad to know about the other vet on the other side of town, though.

North Portland Veterinary Hospital

Portland, Oregon.

Dr. Weinstein is one of the best exotic specialists I've visited. They also have x-ray machines available for small animals.

I've been to Dr. Ramsell and Dr. Burgess at Southwest Animal Clinic in Beaverton, and they've misdiagnosed my guinea pigs before. Southwest Animal Clinic doesn't have x-ray machines, which can make it hard to diagnose internal problems or teeth issues.
