Are you really turning 50? You look so young in the pic's I've seen of you. I'm flabbergasted.

Josephine I will be e-mailing you to give you my address
Josephine if you are interested e-mail me.

Those are in the same post. So which is it? Not to mention there is no such thing as a "registered" pitbull kennel. There are no such things as "pitbulls" in the US, just crosses of other breeds. UKC registers some of the cross-breeds as well as other smaller, non-recognized clubs.

Etta Mae: Actually, some people--including drug dealers and dog fighters--will pay big bucks for Am. Staffs and crosses. They need tough dogs as deterrants and for their livelihood. In Oroville, they're a dime a dozen. People view the dogs as some sort of status symbol--fleas, heartworms, mange and all. Poor things. I have had several friends with these types of dogs (one very sweet one is an Am. Staff and the one I used to train my dogs with was a Staffy Bull). Good owners=good dogs. The rest, well, you all know the stories.

I am not sure if my message was posted because I was cut of so here it is agian. I am a guinea pig and rabbit rescue. I will come get almost any guinea pigs and rabbits in california. others I will pay to be shipped. thanks for your time let me know if you have any unwanted guineas.

This doesn't seem consistent with rescue operations described here, in other forums, or on the rescue websites I've seen.

pay to get pigs shipped, bahhh hahah haha. Damn, the girl must be rich to pay for pigs to be shipped into her "rescue" from all over the country, then keep these "rescued" pigs and not adopt them out.

I want that job.

Just to clarify: Pitbull Terriers and American Staffordshire Terriers were the same breed at the beginning. They split and the Am Staff became AKC registered and the Pit Bull can be registered by the United Kennel Club. They have developed slightly different looks. A registry is just that, it registers dogs, nothing more, nothing less. It doesn't say anything about the breeding, quality or the breeders.

The pitbull's occupation is the village idiot, not you Tammy. That's how I read it anyway!

Josephine-That's what I was trying to get across, kind of. People who will pay for Pits, *ususally* do not want them as the family pet.

I have a Pit Mix, and even with all the excellent socialization and training we have done since puppyhood, she has a tendency to resource guard against smaller dogs.

I no longer give rawhides, or any other special treats when puppies come to visit. Or she stays in her crate.

I can only imagine what she'd be like if she was raised "in a kennel out back".

I've also heard all the rumors about owners buying their Pits kittens and guinea pigs to "practice" on.

Clearly a troll, but I can't help but respond. I guess she's one of the better trolls. Finally, a troll worth our salt!

If being the village idiot pays the mortgage, maybe it's something I should look into.
