As the years passed, Julius has gotten more and more darker highlights. Now he looks much darker :)

His coloring reminds me of two of our HAH foster girls: Skittles and Snickers

Spin again:

So, at that time in 2005, there were the following members of the gang at mom’s house: evidently there was me, Spin, the handsomest guinea pig, plus Mushroom, Shrimpie, Lucky and Julius. Except for Mushroom and me sharing a cage, they were all solo pigs. Each time mom tried them in pairs or even a trio, it ended up badly, and I mean they were out to rip each other’s throats.

Soon after Blackie died, the vet that we were seeing at the time (the non cavy savvy one) called to ask if mom weas interested in a pig destined to be a classroom pig, as his family was leaving for Japan and needed to find him a home asap. Well, mom said yes.
A day later, in the late evening, mom’s new friend that was working at that vet’s office, came to our apartment to bring Nemo. Nemo was a huge abbyruvian, black with a white stripe on his nose and chin. Mom just couldn’t get over how huge Nemo was :) The letter from the family was saying that Nemo was fed only carrots and broccoli for vegetables and that he has to have them every day. Yeah, right!

So, mom looked around and wondered who will get "toplay guinea pig" and try and get along with the new pig. After a few failed attempts with the other pigs, Nemo ended up in my cage (Spin’s) and Mushroom’s. And Nemo became my bestest of buddies. I can tell you though, I’ve never dreamed that I would ever find a buddy as cool as Nemo.

As his mom, I am biased, but from all the piggies I've ever had, Nemo was by far one of the sweetest, most-loving piggie, both towards humans and towards other piggies. He never showed any aggressiveness, and he loved all the piggies he met. Needless to say, he was one of my all times favourite baby.

I'm a lover of the big ol' boys too. :) They're just sweeter somehow.
