Mildred, my exams went okay - I knew I wasn't going to have done amazingly since I've missed a lot of school but hopefully I can pick my grades up this year! :) Thank you! <3

Poppy has been happily munching on some grass. We're a little worried about her weight at the moment - she's eating and drinking completely normally but isn't gaining much weight. A trip to the vets may be in order but we're keeping our fingers crossed...
Image

I remember when I first came onto Guinea Lynx via Momo's youtube videos. I'd watched her videos for a long while and saw the link to her Chronicle in a video of Tamago... I then proceeded to read every single volume of Momo's chronicles and then Mildreds and then... well, the rest, as they say, is history. I've learnt a lot from you all and you're all really lovely people and I just wanted to say thank you for how kind you have been. *Random burst of nostalgia, thank yous and love ends here.*

Meanwhile, I think Poppy has been teaching Casper some begging tricks...
Image

... they both have the "give me food and I'll love you forever, promise" look down to perfection!
Image

That picture of Casper was from a while ago, but doesn't he look dapper with his long locks?!

I hope Poppy is doing well. I hear you about getting a pig to put on weight. Just keep weighing and watching her poop output. Casper is adorable and irresistable.
For my girl who lost about 50g with her URI, I did some extra feeding with CC and mashed baby food and vege as all my pigs disklike CC. It helped bring her weight back up after 2.5 weeks of hand feeding

Well, I don't really know what to say... I don't know how to begin so I'm just going to have to say it for now. I just... gosh.

Popcorn has passed away. I'll post properly soon but she's gone and it really sucks. She was the Puffy to my Serena, the MeiMei to my Momo... the... well, you know. She was just my little lifeboat. And now she's not there and it all happened so quickly and I miss her.

I really, really miss her.

After having guinea pigs for eight years I cannot convey how utterly weird it is to suddenly not have any wheeks to hear, no licks, no nibbles, no cuddles.

There's no more, "let me get her, she's very shy" and a mad scramble to catch the tiny little baby guinea pig who fit into the palm of my hand.
Image

No more watching her grow to become a ploom of fluff.
Image

No more amusing moments... there have been plenty
Image

...
Image

I have taken over 4,000 photos of her and not one of them lives up to how beautiful she was... how comfortably she fit into my arms.
Image

She had the softest piggy lips and gave the bestest kisses.
Image

After eight years of wheeks and carrots and food and snuggles and hugs and drama and sadness, I feel so strangely alone.
Image

Thank you all for being such wonderful friends. :-) <3

Aww, my heart is breaking for you. I understand how you feel. After I lost my old senior boar my whole life seemed empty. I didn't even like the smell of my house anymore because it didn't smell like hay. That's when I decided I needed pigs and rescued Penny and Sheldon.

I am so sorry you lost Popcorn. Take comfort in that fact that you had a wonderful life together <3

Claire! I'm so sorry! I'm crying for you...because we're some of the "youngsters" in this forum...and I just feel closer to you because of that. I'm so very sorry...and also that I didn't see this until now. You were there for me when Puffy died, and now I don't know how to be there for you. I can't imagine how awful it is, I know you loved Popcorn so, so much. I see her photos here and also on facebook, and I see your love for her. Now she's not here....*hug* please Claire, be strong :'(

I am so sorry, such a heartbreaking loss. Perhaps when you are ready framing that lovely picture of you and your Popcorn and hang it up somewhere that you can see it. She certainly left an imprint in you heart and that is something that will always be there.
