Some pigs never get over that. Cookie's still that way years later. I just move slowly and try to be as reassuring as possible!

I use a carrier to try to lure them into (it is a soft carrier so there are usually less problems trying to get them into it). Sometimes I have to kind of corral them into it; it seems less frightening than grabbing and lifting usually.

Chock doesn't really like being picked up so spike has picked that up from him.

Spike and Chock were sitting in the cage side by side so it meant i could stroke them both at the same time
Spike didn't run away like he usually does, he just sat there and let me stroke him.
think he did that because Chock didn't run off when i started stroking him. I guess that is what you call progress :D

I shared a tender moment with both pigs yesterday.
they were both sitting side by side in the cage and i started stroking Chock my older pig.
Spike the baby lifted his head and put it under my other hand for me to stroke him.
they were like that for about ten mins before they bbotth ran off to eat.
bless them.

spike is turning in to a beautiful pig
i'm not sure what breed he is but i know he's a different breed from my older pig. They have different body shapes and total different textttured coats from each other. their different sizes from each other as well but that will change in time as Spike grows.

Are they smooth or rough or curly? Long hair?

Chock has a mid length coat which is straight with no rosettes.
Spike's fur is long ish, sticks out in all directions and he has 2 rosettes on his back.
he is try coloured as well.
hope this helps a little.

It's funny isn't it when they run and jump around.

I only have one that does it now. He jumps and spins and drags his bottom around the cage when I've cleaned them out.

The other piggy is 5 years old now so doesn't jump around. I have seen him do a little hop though.

Spike sounds like he is an Abyssian. They have hair that sticks up in different directions and has rosettes.

It's really sweet how close your piggies are. My two don't really like each other and spend most of their time on opposite sides of the cage.
