Lisam posted this on another thread. I think it's a great exercise to see whose views you most closely align with. If it's unexpected, it's worth learning more about that particular candidate.

After filling this out, looks like I'm Bernie all the way! (with Hillary a little ways behind).

Interesting. The first time I took it it said I sided with Marco Rubio first and Hilary Clinton second. That was answereing just yes/no.

The second time I answered the more in-depth ones I sided with 1) Hilary C, 2) Bernie Sanders 3) Marco M.

Doesn't sound like me but still pretty cool.

I think Donald Trump is going to steal this election. I don't know a lot about politics but I think Americans are tired of hearing the same story told in different ways yet getting the same poor result over and over.

He might be a buffoon, but at least he’s not a phony. All the others seem like phonies to me.

I dunno, Erinspigs, Trump seems pretty phony to me. For all his bombast about being "the greatest jobs president ever," one of his corporations just applied for permission to import 1100 immigrant workers for an installation in South Florida -- cooks, waiters, etc. Just the sort of people he could find anywhere in America if he were willing to pay a living wage. Somehow that doesn't seem like job creation.

I think any likely Democratic nominee would tear him to pieces in a debate. He plays very loose with the facts.

I don't think he has much chance of being elected president. Maybe the Republican nomination, but not president.

Maybe he's telling the same story but in a way I haven't heard. Damn another phony. Its kind of incredible he's even in it though. I think he's like a bad sports team that somehow makes it into the playoffs. The longer they stick around the more dangerous they are

Also Erinspigs, Trump has gone bankrupt many times. Do you really want someone with four bankruptcies running your economy? I don't think he's serious about being the president. I think it's a bit of a distraction from what's really happening in other areas.

I was just reading about the bankruptcies. How can he be worth 10 billion dollars if he stiffed all those people out of casino doe? I wondered about that.

I was also reading about one small person (in his terminology) who won't sell his land in Scotland so Trump can build one of his golf courses and he is holding up the whole shebang. I guess the more I read about Trump the more evil and a big BSer he seems to be.

Yet there he will be front and center for the Republican presidential debates. Must be kind of discouraging for the other people who made politics their careers and here comes the big loud guy with a comb over. Pretty crazy

I was interested to hear a remark made that the election campaign trail, as is now, first began with JFK (in view of money spent and broadcasted coverage) and gave rise to what we see today. And that it forces any would be candidates to follow the same pattern or risk losing not through policies, or lack of them, but because of popular media coverage and perception.

Is that a fair observation?

There is a current view by some that the most outrageous statements by Republican candidates are made to get some coverage for themselves because Trump seems to be getting it all.

I watched the debate, if you can call it that, and it was hideous. 10 grown men that are supposed to be leaders, appearing as if they were second graders trying to get the teachers attention.

It's so pathetic. I thought about the possible reality that one of those men might be my commander in chief some day. A really troubling thought.

I hope this site will be up next year closer to the election. It will be interesting to see what people put in then and if people who put in the same thing will be told they side with different candidates.

One of our radio stations is very right wing, but even some of its listeners find Trump too whacked out.
