I watched New Orleans Mayor Landrieu speak following the removal of four Confederate statues from the city. He is a wonderful and inspiring speaker and gets to the heart of the issue. This is especially important to me due to a couple statues (one is a Robert E Lee statue) here in Charlottesville, VA ; a city that is trying to have them removed.

He is an excellent speaker, too.

Charlottesville also saw a protest by white supremacists protesting in Lee Park on the 13th. I believe this made the national news. Many were outsiders.

Charlottesville is a wonderful and progressive place.
