A friend has in-laws who moved to another part of the state. They were carrying on about building inspections being required here. They weren't required in their new location, and guess what. Their new house was loaded with termites.

I have a bro-in-law like that. Always complaining about taxes, inspections, government overreach, etc. Until a neighbor down the street stopped maintaining his property. and his house was literally falling apart. Then all we ever heard was, “Why won’t the city do something about that eyesore?”
