Well, now I'm totally effed.

Dr. Lyons has cancelled all his appointments for June and won't be in town until sometime in July - maybe.

We really need a good pig dentist in town - full time.

Well, that sucks! What about Dr. Ridgeway. Being known as a piggy doctor, he must have experience with teeth.

Yup, that's all I can do now.

Now to find the time when I can drive the 2 hours (at least) to see him and get back in time to pick Emma up from school.

If you just kidnapped one of them and kept them in your basement, it would make things much easier. :-)

Lawomans has come to the rescue and is taking Goldie down to Dr. Ridgeway on Friday.

Since I'm away this weekend, Lawomans is also going to look after Goldie in case she needs to be handfed.

I am so sorry for your frustration and running around Mum......
Yeah for LAwomans, such a wonderful friend, and this way, you can forgo the kidnap scheme too! : )

Oh, I don't know...Dr. Ridgeway is kind of cute, and Dr. Beeder isn't bad, either...that kidnapping idea has some merit!!!!! Since Mum has already paid for an x-ray machine, he could have an extension practice from her house....:)

Besides, I have ulterior motives...Goldie is sweetheart so I get to have extra snuggles with her!

Mum, aren't you going to Vancouver? Why not make an appointment with Legendre while you're up there?

I'm not going till the beginning of August, and she can't wait until then. But we'll see what Dr. Ridgeway says tomorrow!

Goldie saw Dr. Ridgeway today, and he pulled her right, upper incisor because it was rotten.

His thinking was that she must have been in a fight, the teeth (both) were knocked out, and then that one became infected. I then remembered that I'd had the bossy Marilyn in the cage a few months ago, and there was indeed fur and pigs flying all over the place for several days.

So we hope that with the one incisor pulled the other one will grow to compensate. My concern is that the other one is thin and sticking out, but perhaps it'll change it's direction now.

Wow, I really do learn something new everyday at GL.
Piggies fighting and knocking their opponent’s teeth out!

Good luck with the growing tooth Mum, are there such things as corrective dental in piggies?

Well, this was it - rotten tooth had to come out, root and all. Hmm, perhaps someone can come up with an implant for pigs - Goldie would prefer porcelain to gold, thank you very much!

Wow, porcelain to gold...
Mum, you’ve really got a refined lady on your hands there! : )

I meant braces for slanted or crooked growth since the concern now is the "direction" of the growth.

Hah - I thought we were talking implants here!

Sorry, I'm being dense.

I bet we could fashion something out of a paperclip :-p

LAWomans is on her way down to Long Beach to pick her up for me (I owe her bigtime!).

I phoned, and the office tells me she is both eating hay and pooping, which is just fantastic news!

At Dr. R's suggestion, we'll continue her on the doxy and metacam for a while. She has to go back to have her stitch removed in 2 or 3 weeks, so by that time I hope the other tooth will have straightened out.

If she's eating fine, then she can stay here for the weekend with the housesitter (Sparkles N Daisy is coming in to medicate and check pigs). Otherwise she'll stay with LAWomans this weekend.

*snirk*

Well, I'm going to bid on that tutu for her. Any poor girl with a permanently missing front tooth must distract the eye down to the tutu!

That's a brilliant strategy Mum.
Maybe I should get my ma to saw a pair of Pointe-shoes for Goldie to go with her tutu. : )

Enjoy your weekend Mum, Goldie will be in best of care either under LAwomans or Sparkles N Daisy.
