I'm keeping him in my thoughts. Henry is such a special guy.

Henry knows the routine, and he's good about keeping his water intake up.

Our little old man pig is actively involved in keeping himself around as long as possible.

Good thoughts here for "our" Henry.

We keep all of our boys on the careful ca:p ratio diet, but Henry's tricky, because his old-man GI system doesn't like a lot of food. His staples are butter lettuce, Oxbow Pellets, Critter Berries, and then something to keep the Ca:P in the right range.

Henry has been very perky this evening, and that smell that guinea pigs have when they have at UTI is gone. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed...

Believe me, we've stocked up on Critter Berries.

We're kind of puzzled, because after close to a week of antibiotics and a little metacam each day, he is still peeing some bloody urine.

But he's not showing any serious pain. He's eating, drinking, active, lying down comfortably, sleeping...everything seems pretty normal, except for bloody pee.

Is there anything else we should be looking at besides a stone? I would think if he had a kidney stone it would cause significant pain. Perhaps some sort of kidney infection, or something else?

Oh poor Henry, I sure hope you can find out what is causing all this. But I am glad he seems to be acting normal.

Henry was doing really great for several days, and now he's starting to produce bloody urine again. And he's acting uncomfortable. He's just so chipper - he's never whiny - and he's eating and drinking and begging for goodies.

Sending healing thoughts for sweet Henry.

I'm not sure if this is an option for Henry, but have you thought of trying a different antibiotic?

Tracis- a trip to the vet and a discussion about antibiotics may be up next. He has such a sensitive GI system, and our vet here is not the most knowledgeable, unfortunately. I can't afford a trip to K-State until after I get paid - which won't be for another week.
