StF, thank you so much for giving them such a beautiful resting place.

We have a butterfly bush in the front yard, and James in particular really likes it. I will show him your photo. I think it will be very special to him.

It is a wonderful resting place for such a special pair, and even with a little friend to watch over them.

Wow, I just read this whole thread. You guys really worked your butts off to save these little ones. I don't know how I missed this thread and I'm really sorry I did.

I'm glad Mamma Mia and Snowy knew love and compassion with you. I'm so very sorry that you lost them. I'm thinking of you, and I'm hoping for the best with Nala. She's gorgeous.

I'm so sorry to hear it...you did so much to help them. And, most importantly, you gave them love.

STF-I am so sorry for the loss of Mia and little Snowy. You did so much for them. It must be incredibly hard to have gone through it all. Thank you for giving them a loving home and a lovely burial site. You are a wonderful, special person.

Thank you all, again, for your kind and comforting words. We feel closure after burying the two sweet piggies yesterday.

Here is Nala today. I cleaned cages with a fury yesterday, baby proofed Nala's cage and took out all the "lips" she was having to jump over. I can tell she is getting more and more uncomfortable. I can feel movement but I have no idea how many she is carrying.

And here she is sharing morning hay with her friend Turco.

Ok all. I'm starting to do a twice daily check for babies. Am I psycho or what? How will I know when it's getting to be "any day now"?

I know I should not handle her very much. I weighed her tonight and clipped toenails since it may be a while before I can do it again. She weighs a whopping 1336 gms. She weighed 968 on June 2nd. 300 of those grams have come on in the last month.

How often should I or could I weigh her right now? SHOULD I be giving her a feel every few days (not picking her up, just touching her) to see if anything has changed?

I feel so bad for that poor pig that just had 9 babies. Nala is so big and she only has one or two. I can't even imagine what that other pig felt like!

Gee, I don't know. We generally recommend handling very carefully or not at all as they get later in their pregnancy. I hope she does well!
