Sweetpea - Ovarian cysts in a desexed pig
Thanks daisymay.
Well, first the good news; Sweetpea's righthand side cyst (the one that responds to the HCG) is now so small that it didn't show on the ultrasound at all.
The one on the left (the one they drained about a month ago) has not increased in size since it was drained. Yay!
There was a vet student there who wanted to do a bit of ultrasound practice, so I got to watch Sweetpea's ultrasound, which was really interesting.
Bad news is the vet was not completely happy with the way her lungs sounded, They said she may still have a touch of pneumonia, or it could just be scar tissue from having had pneumonia, or she may have a heart condition.
So I have to book her in for chest x-rays, just to be safe.
Daisymay, I sent my vet an email this morning about the dental tools, when she gets back to me (should be tonight) I'll let you know.

Thanks daisymay, the weather in vic is just perfect today, 21 and sunny!
The vet wants me to record Sweetpea's resting respiratory rate , I just got 106 per minute, and 26 over 15 seconds.
She was lying out on the grass in the sun, with her little pink feet out behind her, so she may have been hotter than normal.
I might try again when she is in her cage, but it is almost impossible to catch her sleeping!
Could anyone tell me what the normal resting respiratory rate for guinea pigs is?
I did a bit of googling and got 40-110, and 42-104 per minute, but it was just under respiratory rate, not resting.
