Just discovered another lump in the exact same area as her previous abscess *sigh*

I've put her on 0.4ml of metronidazole to see if I can shrink it. Hopefully it won't grow again to the point we have to have it lanced :/

Without reading back -- has complete surgical removal of the chamber been considered? If ruled out, why? (I think it has and I can't remember why.)

Probably because she was only 7 months at the time. She's 11 months now so they might remove it IF it has to come to that.

Thus far it hasn't grown unlike last time when it doubled in size overnight.

Looks like the antibiotics are taking effect. I can't be totally certain, but it feels like the lump is shrinking. the next few days will tell for sure

Metronidazole addresses a whole lot more stuff than we often think to remember that it does. ;-) One of my old vets was a firm believer in it.

It's great stuff :) and the lump is almost gone now, phew!
Also, how long do you recommend continuing treatment after it's gone completely?
