I didn't know you had them separated. After surgery my pigs always go back to their cage, vet says it helps with recovery.

I only separated them because Bella is a spaz and I was in the GP room feeding them and she ran right into Norbie side and the cyst started to ooze/bleed. I was worried that they would hurt her.

The Vet said that I should separate her for a week or so.

But, I think after seeing how she reacted to Willow that I should put her back in the cage with the other girls. It will be harder to monitor her food and water intake (and her poops, they are still small and shaped thin and curly-its hard to describe but they are not normal yet)

I need to change the girls cage in the morning. I will do that and then put Norbie in on the clean bedding and see how it goes.

Norbie looks so cute. :)

I've seen the type of poop that you are describing; Sakura had those. They cleared up after she started eating more.

Do any of your girls like to chew on things? You'll want to make sure they they don't remove Norbie's stitches for her.

I think if anyone would chew it would be Norbie. She used to barber Rosie. Rosie had long hair and I swear, Norbie would eat it like spaghetti.

Norbie is really the piggie who checks everyone out and makes sure they are ok. She's also the piggie that moves all the cozies together so she can be close to the other girls. So, I know she misses them!

But, I work til 9pm tomorrow night so I won't be home to monitor her.

I don't want to put her in for a "visit" either and then disrupt her by putting her back in quarantine.

I'm off Friday-Sunday so I could probably put her back on friday and monitor her all weekend.

Is there any way you can split part of the cage off and put Norbie in with just a gridwall between her and her cagemates?

Alternatively, if you have her in a petstore cage to minimize moving around, if you can, just put the whole cage inside her normal cage. The others will walk around it and talk to her and chew on it to get her out. ;-)

I could probably figure out a way to split the cage. The quarantine cage is probably too big to put inside the cage. It is a store bought cage but it is slightly smaller then a 2x3 CC cage. The 3 girls's cage is 2x6 so it would give the 2 piggies 2x3 of space. I suppose I can look and see what it looks like.

I have extra grids so I know I can split it but I would probably have to give Norbie 2x2 and that seems soooo small for her. But, its only for a week or so.

I will see what I can do. I would love to put her with her buddies!

(I think I will jump for joy if I weigh her and she just doesn't lose any more!)

Well start jumping because she is at 858. I was shocked because I fed her "breakfast" and I was at work until 9pm.

So, she is up at little from this morning!! Yeah!

and her water bottle is down quit a bit from this morning!

Tomorrow I am going to clean the entire GP room (we have company coming this weekend) and then see what I can do about getting Norbie back with the girls!

The husband's oldest daughter and her two kids (hellions) are coming and I am going to close the GP room door and we are putting a "sleigh bell" on the door so if someone opens it, we will hear it! (thanks to my grandmom for the long strip of bells on leather that make a LOUD noise).

OK, Norbie has lost more weight! I cannot understand it. This morning, I cleaned the big cage and put the 3 of them back together.

I waited to weigh Norbie because she has been eating non-stop for the last hour. So, I was thinking, she was going to be UP in weight but she is now down to 842g. How is that possible?

842g 10:00AM, 10-28-2011

Should I worry or is this normal?
