Jack fell and now drags his back legs

And now a bit more good news. Jack has had a lovely run with Ethel and Elsie this afternoon. He is using his left leg a lot more normally, and miraculously, seems to be using his right leg a little more.
I haven't weighed him for a day or two, mainly because work has got in the way, but also because he is now so active, I'm not sure he will sit in them for long enough! I will give it a shot over the next few days, but he is eating so well that I can see no reason why he should be losing weight any longer.
Here's hoping he continues to improve.

858g tonight!! Pooping, peeing, eating really well. Even starting to move his back legs more normally tonight. He had a bath this evening and stood on his hind legs almost normally, and was taking a lot more weight through those legs. Will wait to see if BamBam notices a difference when she comes to pick him up tomorrow. He is starting to look much more like a "normal" guinea pig now.

Just another quick update. Jack is back here for a day or two, having spent a while with BamBam and her herd.

I'm delighted to report that Jack is almost back to normal. His gait is probably 80% and he can put on a real speed when he needs to. Although he does sometimes fall over, at least he can get himself up now. The change from the little scrap that first came here not that long ago is incredible, and testament to how these little creatures can recover, given the time and care they deserve. It just goes to show that vets don't know everything! If they had had their way Jack would have been pts, and yet here he is with a great quality of life, holding his own with other pigs, and thriving.

There are lots of sad stories here on GL, let's rejoice in a success for once!
