Bleeding after guinea pig gives birth?

Hello everyone,

My female guinea pig just gave birth to 4 pups, everything seemed to go smoothly, but I was reading up about the birthing process and I came across something that said that there shouldn't be too much bleeding. I'm thinking a little bit has to be normal though right? I'm not sure if it is a concern or not, but I've looked at the bedding underneath where she has her babies and it is quite messy with blood. I also noticed when she basically sat on her babies for a moment, after she got up and moved there was blood left on their coats. I'm wondering if this is normal or if I should be concerned about this? I will call my veterinarian regardless, but I wanted to ask for input as well while I wait for their office to open. How long has it been since the pups were born? If it's immediately after, and if she hadn't cleaned herself up, that may not be unusual. But if she's bleeding more than just spotting after an hour or so, she needs to see a vet.
