When I search the Small Pet Select site for guinea pig supplies NutriRescue shows up but all references on the page appear to be for rabbits. Has anyone used this with a guinea pig?

Well, that's interesting. What would concern me, as something marketed to "get the GI tract moving," is that it contains not one but four different oils -- Coconut oil, Sunflower oil, Chia oil, Flax oil. We have had discussions on GL in the past about issues with using an oil to help with what some owners perceive as constipation (slowed motility, or even a blockage or bloat). In the UK in particular, vets are notorious for administering olive oil or mineral oil in these situations. However, it's vital for the contents of the gut/GI tract to remain hydrated so the matter can move, and oils that coat the food matter can prevent moisture from penetrating it. For that reason, I would *think* that this product would be contraindicated in cases of slowed motility, but maybe others here can remark on it.

One fairly representative reference that speaks to using caution with oil-based products in the digestive tract for treating stasis in rabbits:

I used it for Spencer in a pinch while my critical care was in the mail. It smells like marshmallow and gave Spencer soft poop. He is very sensitive though. I won't use it again.
