They´re Off!
Rover has left San Mateo!
We saw them off promptly at 11AM. Lots of press, lots of people and lots of hugs. Becky and Jackie were exhausted, as you can imagine. They drove through a starting line of streamers to leave - it was a nice parting shot.
Teresa and a few other volunteers (Linda, Kara and Elly) are still there, finishing up the work at the barn for the "leftover" pigs - still quite a few.
Bats will be talking to Becky all week and updating us on their status!

I need to point out In a market economy, the middleman is always rewarded for the exchange of goods. This is true whether you are talking about cows, eggs, grain, or -- in today´s society -- information.
Being nice isn´t necessary. Cash is.
Or donuts. They work nicely too.

Oh Nurgle, you live too far
I dated a donut baker many years ago. He spoiled me with really fresh donuts every morning when he came in from his early morning shift.
Back to the topic at hand -- Yes, I´ll post updates from Becky and Jackie.
I don´t envy them -- you have to get on your hands and knees and practically disassemble some of those multi-tiered cages in order to feed the pigs or clean the cages. There are maybe 24 cages on board, some split into double deckers. So at the end of every second or third day, they have to take several hours out at the end of the day and start cleaning a lot of cages.

Local people, can you help tape the news tonight? Should be 2, 5, and 7. Someone said there was already a little piece on Channel 5. I didn´t see it. It MIGHT get picked up by CNN tomorrow since it´s now even more of a National story. It should be on Evening Magazine tomorrow. Is that just local? Don´t know.
