Well, I have them. I met Jackie in Tualatin and took all 39. I will be taking between 20-25 up to Sandi tomorrow.
There are some adorable pigs here. Lots of abbys. I´ve never had abbys, but they seem to be the most gregarious and the most bossy of the bunch.
Any time I hear a ruckus, I find an abby making trouble. I need a time-out corner. But they are also the ones at the front of the cage during veggie time.

These are tiny pigs. I think the largest one here is maybe two pounds, with the majority of them well under that, and most of the sows are pregnant according to Jackie.
That is why I am keeping fewer than I originally thought. With all these pigs having babies, I can´t overwhelm myself or my family, and I´d be doing them no good if I can´t tame them up a bit and find them forever homes.

Will post pictures and stuff later. Am too tired tonight, er, this morning.

Jackie made the trip fine, she had her pup with her. I´m sure she has showered and is snoozing peacefully.
I hope she has a very safe trup home tomorrow.

thanks for everything, Jackie and Teresa.

I think you guys are all doing a great job. Let Sandi know we think it´s great she´s helping out too.

Good luck with all these pigs. I hope you are able to find them some wonderful homes.

And of course a big pat on the back for you.

Kleenmama, you also deserve lots of kudos. The pig situation here is so overwhelming right now. If Jackie hadn´t been willing to transport (and do much more supportive care along with many others at PHS), and you and Sandi hadn´t been there to take them, these guys wouldn´t be around at all.

They are small. Poor things didn´t have much to eat before being seized. I remember saying to Jackie that I´d never seen gp´s with such long legs. No, not long legs--just no big, fat bellies.

I imagine they´ll start plumping up in no time up there with you guys.

Glad to hear Jackie made it okay and you got back with pigs safely in tow.

Thank you immensely for stepping up and making room and taking these on. It´s a huge relief for us here.

SFACC will probably be putting guinea pigs down soon if they haven´t already. They recently got a slew of 17 in from a variety of sources.

It never ends. I just hope we don´t have any more big dumps or seizures here for a while.

I´m finally home, tired but safe. The rental car guy raised his eyebrows at 1,336 miles in two days. It was well worth it, I know these pigs are in good hands now.

My heartfelt thanks go to kleenmama and Sandi for saving these pigs. I´m looking forward to updates and baby pics!

P.S. I still wouldn´t buy a minivan for myself, but even I have to admit it was the perfect vehicle for this trip.

22 of them are now with Sandi in Seattle.
Pigpal, your effort to save their lives is to be commended. The parts we played will be small compared to the efforts of yours when they first arrived, and getting them up to the northwest.

I ivermectined the 17 I have here yesterday. I have weights on them all, will get pictures soon, I hope.

P.S. I know minivans have a stigma, but the reason there are so many of them on the road is they are a very effective vehicle. Usually, they are the perfect vehicle for MOST things....

Do they have names, yet? They need names!

I´m really happy they are finally there.

Nope, no names yet, and you are right, they need them. I keep going "the little black boar" " the white and cream abby sow". I´ve never needed to come up with 17 names yet!!

So, did you keep the American Satin boar ? The one that´s the color of a field of ripe wheat under a full moon?

Wow! Very poetic, Pigpal. You could win adopters with descriptions like that.

Are you going with a theme again?

A theme is the easiest way to get lots of names. For the rest of you, when I was breeding, each line of pigs had a "theme". My blacks were names of cities. My brokens were flowers and plants.
Dals were from the movie.

So, I should come up with a theme for the rescues.

Yes, PP, I kept him. I promise I´ll get pics up soon, I just don´t know when. This coming weekend I will be out of town.

I´m taking suggestions, people. Come up with a theme.

Just walk down the aisles of your local drugstore. You´ll get lots of ideas, from head to toe, Lady Clarol to Fleet.

Zoloft, Paxil, Effexor, Prozac, Valium, Lithium, Thorazine...

OK, I have pictures. Who out there can help me post? And don´t suggest a page at yahoo, they say my .jpgs aren´t .jpgs (they are).

So where should I post these pictures??

Are there any other sites like geocities? Have you tried geocities? (Or is this yahoo?)

Posting pics is kind of spotty since the move.
I hate extra forums -- but almost wish we had a temporary pic forum -- maybe the feedback forum could be used for temporary pics (removed in a month).

It´s great to have med pics but I realize how important it is to go easy on the general pics after the move.

So, any ideas out there for decent free websites where you can put up pics?
