Hello all,
I have not posted here in some time.
I run a registered guinea pig rescue in Australia and recently took on a surrender of both males and females and of course the girls where all pregnant and have had many babies most of which are males.
I would really like to have them de-sexed before placing them for adoption but was just wondering if anyone can advise me on what the minimum weight ranges would be for de-sexing a male guinea pig?
Thank you in advance,
Monique
Required weight for de-sexing
I don't know minimum weight, but I know we neutered our male when he was only about 4 or 5 months old. He was not full-grown. He ended up growing to be the same size as our intact females (everyone is over 2 years old now), while his intact male offspring grew a lot bigger than he did when they were full grown.
