I think in general it is more expensive. But I like the immediacy and feel at some point the printer/ink/paper costs have to get more reasonable. And you can always store them on disk and just print out the real special ones.

I love that Kodak picture maker. You can make wallets of your pigs if you want, or an 8 x 10 if you´re so inclined. You can also make prints from an existing picture (not enough wallets for the kid to give out? Go make more!) You pay by the sheet, so it varries.
