Are you near any GL member here, could you email/call them for vet recommendations or such?
I wouldn't feel comfortable with your vet too, it is more than understandable that you would want the best for your boys.
I am sorry, I have no better medical advices for you or little Piggy, sending you loads of ninja vibes!

Sometimes I think I should move out to CA with ya'll just to have a good vet. There are 2 exotics practices in town, this one (with 2 exotics vets) and my parents vet who gave the bad yearly checkup exam. Thank you for confirming. Now I just have to figure out where in the heck I can get some Bactrim before Thursday.
Ok, this is less than ideal, but my dad, in his infinite medical hoarding, had a few pills of Bactrim so if I absolutely can't get them from the vet, I can compound some myself. I'm SO glad for all those hours weighing, measuring, mixing, and titrating in school. I'm going to hold off dosing him myself until I'm positive I can't get some Bactrim out of this vet.
I bought some fresh acidopholus (dairy free! cool!) from Whole Foods on my way home and am starting Piggy on some unsweetened cranberry juice right now.

Um, yes that date thing... about that. They're definitely out of date, a long way out of date actually (hence waiting until tomorrow). I also have seen bactrim in the fish antibiotics of an aquarium store once, in Virginia (I'm now in Alabama). I wish I'd bought it when I saw it! Of course, local pet store doesn't have any and I'm fairly sure Petstupid doesn't carry good fish antibiotics either.
