A Guinea Pig in Need, is a Good Pet Indeed or, Why Adopt?
Aww, I love pics of pigs' different-colored feet! Pooka's back feet are different colors, but I can never get a decent pic of them!
Carmella lost her her long time roomie, Suey, on Valentine's day. She was eight and 1/2 and had to have medication the last two years of her life.
Carmella has been lost. She sensed what was happening. Her designated wheeker no longer demanded food for her.
Some two weeks later, she finally wheeked today! It was quiet, but audible. It was not time for any greens, but I gave her some anyway. She really has been upset her friend is no longer here, making all the sounds a pig makes, i.e. running and pop-corning and paper crinkling.
She needs a friend. I am looking. I will try and find her a friend. I have been looking on Petharbor, Petfinder, Craiglist and a few shelters and rescues.
When it happens, it will happen and be meant to be. I still miss Suey and the calmness she so kindly offered during our petting sessions.
Carmella is now waiting too.

I am so sorry you lost Suey. Poor Carmella needs a new friend. I hope you find a needy soul to be her new sister.
I wanted to add that I think the picture with the 50/50 feet is so cute and yes I do think it is like the Wizard of Oz.

Update! Pending pig adoption...
Carmella may have a roomate. I had been pondering a biting pig on Craigslist and replied at least a week ago...
""I have a 6 week old Guinea pig who is in need of a new home. We bought her
from Pet's Choice in ******, under the specific impression from the kid who
works there, that these animals don't really bite. Well, we managed to pick
out the exception to that rule. Stella bites. I called Pet's Choice and was
told that all sales are final, even if they provided misinformation. They
refuse to take her back, even though I am not asking for a refund. They
offered advice on how to train her to not bite, but I have no intention of
letting her practice her manners on my children.
So, if there is anyone out there with experience with Guinea Pigs, or the
willingness to try, you may take her and all her junk. (Water bottle, hay,
food)She is a black Abyssinian (sp?)with orange spots and a mowhawk. Really,
very cute. Makes cute little squeaky noises, and does flips in her cage.
Respond by replying to this ad through email.
Thanks"
I can't get over the phrase "all of her junk"!! - that a few other things...anyway. Expecting a pig pick up sometime in the near future. Working details out.

The nerve!
This is very exciting news indeed, I can't wait to meet your new biter,. uh, ah, I mean new piggy Wheekers3.
I know you will give her an excellent home and loving environment, just as you have done so for every one of your babies. :)

Yeah, flips?! ...I am thinking mites too. I am hoping to get the cage too. - Not sure what all of her junk means.
I have a huge bottle of Ivermectin and will dose immediatly. I plan on keeping her away from Carmella for a period.
I hope this lady doesn't tick me off. I am formulating a kind speech about G.P.s and kids.
Isn't it sort of weird - Carmella and Stella?
Not sure I will keep the name. Idunno.
