Ellie seems worse. Some days she's better, but other days she's worse than she was a week ago. The vet gave us more propulsid and some metacam two weeks ago. She's almost done with the propulsid.
She frequently makes sounds like she's in pain when she poops and arches her back. This is what's getting worse.
Does anyone have any ideas? The vet wants us to put her in a separate cage for a few days so we can see how much she's eating and wants to hear back on Wed.
We don't know what to do and we're afraid we'll lose her. The vet doesn't know what's wrong.

No xray. The vet hasn't mentioned it. What's the best way to nudge a vet to do more testing without alienating her?
She is still trying to get in touch with someone at Colorado State who she thinks might have ideas. Hasn't connected with him yet.
Ellie is acting happy & normal and eats & drinks well, for what it's worth.

Update on Elle:
We divided the cage so the pigs are separated. The vet wants to know how much Elle is eating. She eats the 1/4 c. Oxbow tim. pellets within 12 hours. She eats her hay well. She drinks lots of water. All more than Celia. But Celia's more filled out.
We're supposed to talk to the vet on Monday & maybe get an xray. We're also supposed to look for blood in the urine.
What the vet doesn't understand is that the poop problem gets better & worse. This is still happening. She'll be better for a day or two and then back to the same old problem. She said once a problem's there it usually either gets worse or better, not both.
I have seen other thread(s), though, where pigs have an intermitant problem with soft poops.

Ellie update. Last week the vet did an xray and Elle looked fine except for gas (not bloat) - no stones, ovaries looked normal, etc. Her pee isn't discolored.
The vet talked to a specialist at Colorado State - don't know what he said, but we're trying bactrim. No change so far. Keeping everything else the same - timothy hay & oxbow pellets & vit. C tabs, no veggies.

No results from the bactrim. I decided to try her on kleenmama's pellets since we're out of Oxbow and have a bag of kleenmama's. This was about a week ago. I can't verify the timing, but it seemed like her problems got worse about the time we started her on Oxbow and I've wondered if there's something in there she's sensitive to.
Within the day her poops were better, soft but formed and have remained that way. We'll continue with just this change for a while. Only problem is she still sometimes makes pain noises when she poops.

OK. The vet just called and I want to post this for the record. She took a while to call back because she was reviewing Elle's records & doing some more research. Having my posts on this thread also helped because I could give her dates for when Elle got worse, how she was when we first got her, what we were feeding her, etc.
We're going to give Elle flagyl. As some of you already know, it works on parasites, "modulates" gut bacteria, and has some anti-inflammatory properties. She said most pigs don't like it, but she thinks Elle has to have a trial of it at this point. She's getting banana flavor.
Elle had some very soft poops yesterday so I don't think pellet brand is relevant (given that it's a quality pellet). She even went to kleenmama's site and was impressed (not Elle, the vet). We're going to try a few days back on Oxbow, since she eats it better, and see if she can gain some weight. If she doesn't, we'll do critical care.
I asked about IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) and IBS (irritable bowel symdrome), She said there are no documented cases in the literature, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
