That's about what Ellie weighs. Originally her poops were formed but soft. Now on the bad days they are wet lumps.

ok, I got freaked out and went to a specialist..Dr. Tom Greek in Yorba Linda...here's what he says:

Fecal came up neg again (excpet for protazoa that should be in there)...but no parasites

Poops are not quite as alarming as I thought they were.

She is a bit underweight so he wants me to give her a bit of alfalfa for a couple of days (warned about stones) and keep on CC

No lumps, masses or stones apparant...but after the check of her abdomen she had a bit of discharge from her vaginal area.

So, we are now on baytril (which scares me to death due to all I have read) and if she does not improve we may be looking at a spay.

Huh. Very interesting. Did he say how her genital tract could be involved with poop problems?

no...he just said she may have a bacterial infection...I asked 100 questions but did not ask that one!

Ok, so I guess it's a separate issue.

I think the vets are confused too. From our experiences and a few other threads I've seen here, it seems to be a difficult thing to treat. I think I mentioned that my vet talked to a specialist at Colorado State. So I think we're getting good input, and it's good for us to share this information, but since they don't know exactly what's wrong it's going to take a while to sort out.

I think this thread should be named "The Soft Poop Chronicles".

he went with baytril because albon is the same class of drugs as bactrim...but she has wetter poops now 2 hours after the first dose...is it the baytril or coincidence???

She is eating some alfalfa and orchard grass...

Dunno. Ellie seemed worse the first 3 days she took the bactrim. Who knows?

Ellie still eats like a ... pig. It's good that they're eating well.

actually Sierra is just picking...so I am doing CC

vet checked her teeth...they are good...

She just had a firmer (not normal) poop after the cc but we have blood again...the vet did not seem overly concerned

My husband is furious with me...he said no spay...he is angry that I did not bring her back to the rescue because she had this within 48 hours...

I feel so over whelmed...
