New guinea mom, i'm pretty stocked up on the fabric I have now but if you would like to email me privately and you want me to special order a certain fabric i'd be happy to do that. I can send you the links to where the fabric is that I order and you can pick what you like!

I did decide to go ahead and get a hut (lavender paw print) and it arrived today. It appears to be very well made and durable. I'll do a photo shoot when I decide who gets to use it. I do have some more questions though:

1. Can you make them with fabric selected and sent to you?
2. If so, what type of fabric and amount do you need?
3. Can you make the hut so that there is no lip on the entrance? I have a couple of pigs with eyesight issues and would like to just have an easy in/easy exit without my having to be concerned that they might trip or get a toenail caught. ;)

Thanks! :)

Yes, I would be happy to do that.

2. If so, what type of fabric and amount do you need?

I use either cotton or flannel. A 1/2 yard should be enough to make a hut. The price would be less also.

3. Can you make the hut so that there is no lip on the entrance? I have a couple of pigs with eyesight issues and would like to just have an easy in/easy exit without my having to be concerned that they might trip or get a toenail caught. ;)

I can make it without a lip also. I have done that in the past.

Your welcome:)

Thanks; I'll take a look around this weekend to see if there is any fabric that I might like. The lavender paw print feels softer/brushed ... is it flannel? And one last question, on the huts with no lip, did you find them to be less sturdy or not retain their shape as well as the ones with the lip?

Also, I'd like to order one of these but only with the pig. ;)
This picture says it all.

The one you got is flannel. I personally prefer the flannel, it's just a little thicker.

The ones without the lip are actually made the same way, but I cut the opening down much lower so that I can still sew it on the same way, so it is just as sturdy. If that makes sense. Forgive me if it doesn't, it's 1 am and i've been up way too long today:)

I just double checked on the measurements to see exactly how much fabric was needed for a hut and it's actually between a 1/2 yard and 3/4 of a yard.

It's not necessarily better, it's just a little thicker. It's not that much of a difference though.
