Maybe it was some newby on the route? I would want answers. I would even call that post office and ask them why they were not delivered.

Not knowing is maddening.

Yeah, I'm going to be calling my local post office to complain. They asked me to call them when I figured out what happened and I absolutely will, but it will be to complain (rather than just telling them)! Especially after they treated me like a moron for insisting the address was correct.

And even if it was a newbie, they'd have to just be lazy. I'm still suspicious about it being reported undeliverable at 8:55 am. I have NEVER gotten my mail that early so I find it extremely hard to believe they were on the street and found the address insufficient at that hour. The address is just your average home address, no apartment number, no unusual spellings or hard to read street names, nothing weird. Bizarre.

I would go down there with a bunch of your recently delivered mail and a copy of the address that was used to send the order to you.

I feel she deserves a refund.

If there is some legitimate reason it was not delivered, they should be able to tell you so it never happens again.

Jen, would you mind including the original packaging from the "undeliverable" package when you ship my huts tomorrow? Or if it was a box, the label cut off of it or something like that? If you haven't packed them up already. Then I can go to the post office with that in hand and I think there will be more weight to my complaint (since when I called they insisted that I can't prove the package had the right address).

Good idea. I'll send that with it so you have ammo! I'll just pack the original box in a new one, so you can take the whole thing.

Excellent, thank you! We'll see what I can do with that!

Jen - I ran out of pellets once. My fiance swears Brownie stared directly at him the entire time and rumbled occasionally!
Glad the missing hut(s) were found!

I'm already dying to find out what the post office says. Ask to talk to the postmaster there if they can't give you a good reason for not having delivered it and insist Momof3boys get a refund! I imagine you did this electronically, Momof3boys?

They have to have some way to handle this kind of complaint.

p.s. the online USPS label thing kind of vets your address. If it doesn't like it for some reason, it won't let you print out a label.

Yeah, that's what I told them on the phone, Lynx. And they said "well we can't be sure the package actually had that address on it." Pshhhhhh.

I'm not sure whether I'll be able to get them to offer a refund since I didn't pay for the shipping but if they do admit fault then maybe I can get them to give me the information necessary for Jen to request one.

Carrie86, that is too funny. I know that look!

Yes Lynx, I did do it electronically. I know what you mean about the labels. I've had that happen several times and it's usually small things like they don't want a period after "Ave" or something like that.

zazzified, you are correct that you couldn't get the refund, only Momof3boys as the sender. But you might be able to get to the bottom of it and have them provide her with whatever she needs to claim it (better for you both!). Since it is electronic, there may be some recourse.

I believe it is also possible to request a refund for unused labels. I don't know if it would help to start some sort of "undelivered" process now due to some sort of deadline.

They might have some info online about it.
