The Southern Boars
Despite my losses, I am very thankful. In fact, many of you may remember when my favorite little turkey was a piggie named Moose, seen here giving me moderate stink-eye for making him stand in front of some construction paper tail feathers. He did not want to stand there. He was happy to stand ANYWHERE else, just not there. So he finally just decided to take a rest. What a little turkey. Loved that Moose.

Wow. I got the bill for Snickers surgery yesterday and it was like losing him all over again. All that money, and no Snickers. It ground what little holiday spirit right under my heel. My other boys are such a joy, though. And Leo, my kitty, is right there too. Don't worry, the boys are totally safe around him, and all my cages are cat-proof. Leo is sixteen, so his interest is more along the lines of Fancy Feast than anything furry. It always has been.
They tried to cut expenses where they could (by not billing me for meds and things), but it was so expensive. Poor Snickers. We tried so hard to save you.

No, none for my piggies or Leo. But oh, joy of joys, the third cut arrived yesterday. So there was a cage cleaning and then a handing out of the Good Hay, and All Was Well.
It makes me happy to make them happy. And that's the whole point, right?
I started to try to take photos last night but they were so happy with their hay and I was feeling kind of down so I just left them alone to enjoy. Pictures can wait.

Pictures can wait.... but not very long! Everyone was in a happy mood, so, out came the blanket and the bows and the camera.
Here we are, still, and looking all the same way, at the same time, at the camera.

And Leo, my love (he went first, before the guys peed all over the blanket)

Happy Holidays
It's after the holidays, but I think this hat looks like Shwartz's hat from the "A Christmas Story" movie. Don't you think? Louie's bundling up because it's freezing cold here in the so-called sunny South.

It's actually for a wine bottle. I got it while doing day-after-Christmas shopping at a Big Lots where my sister lives. If you flip the scarf, it has a candy cane on it, but I just wanted it to be winter-y since the holidays are over.
Louie thanks you for the compliments. He was an outstanding model. Yes, I'm bragging a little. He was so good. I took only 4 shots. This is number 2.
He's such a love.

I wish I could get a good photo of Louie's eyes. He and Smokey were at the vet's recently, because Smokey had a broken bottom front tooth and needed a tooth trim (how he broke it is a mystery) and Louie went too, because they are so bonded.
The doctor went ahead and looked at Louie too, and when he checked his eyes, he mentioned that his eyes were blue-green.
I think Smokey must have chewed the bars too hard. He is my number one bar-chewer, and really goes after them when he gets excited about dinner time. He was such a good boy at the vet. So sweet and quiet.
