My former fosters have found good forever homes - Tilia and Alarm, now Amber, were sent to another city, Poznań.
Let me introduce my new fosters, a young male and female, with very unimaginative names of John and Joana.

She is a doll! So pretty and soft. She is healthy, but thin and small for her supposed two months of age. She and her "partner", also healthy, but much better "padded", were bought in a pet shop, and well cared for by their owners, but after a month, the lady began having symptoms of severe allergy. The owners decided to surrender their guinea pigs and asked to find them new homes. That is how they came to my home.
Also, the Holiday Inn for guinea pigs opened at my place for Christmas. Besides my three own piggies and two fosters, I have two pairs of females. You have already seen them, but they were small then. Now they are almost full grown. They are Mona and Lisa, and Cookie and Muffin.

My herd is down to two. Today Kudłaty died, most probably from lymphoma. He was getting progressively sick for the last months.
These are his last pictures.

His companions were close to him for weeks. I have noticed that guinea pigs keep watch over very sick and dying friends.

The post mortem revealed that the cause of death was not lymphoma but rather nephrotic syndrom and, generally, kidney atrophy and insufficiency. The reason was, most probably, a genetic predisposition and Kudłaty's age.

I am so sorry for your lost of Kudłaty. RIP wee one and run free now in perfect health and forever young. He was very handsome!

Young your new fosters and the old fosters that found homes. Hoping new pair are seperated so no new piggies are found. Love the little girl Joana, and may come and piggy nap that one she's a doll!

John the baby is very cute too and love their sticky up ears and his spiky fur and kissable lips. Swoon I think I am in love!

Thank you! Those fosters have found their homes. Joana is now called Vinci and lives in Łódź with Mona and Lisa, two females who stay with me during holidays. This Easter I had three guests!
Now I have new fosters, two adult males, two baby males and this evening I got a neutered male.
