I don't think someone was quite as excited about our last Christmas living with my parents as I was:

Even though I'd made a lot of effort to make their cage nice and festive:

I miss doing stuff like that to their cages. Since I moved I've not really been able too, as the cage was on the floor.

Toki enjoyed trying to eat all of the decorations. It was quite a puzzle trying to make it look okay yet keep things away from his teeth.

At least someone was up and excited on Christmas Day.

"Has Santa Claws been yet?"

The boys got lots of presents from Santa Claws. A set of fluffy pillows to perch on:

A snuggly tunnel each:

And a treat puzzle. I don't think Toki gets how it works:

On 31st March 2012 the piggies and I moved away from my hometown, to live with my boyfriend 140 miles away.

Before we left, they went for a quick wellness check at the vet to make sure they'd be okay travelling.

Unhappy boys!

Oh those poor boys. They look like prisoners being carted off to exile and having one last fond gaze. Ha, I'm sure they were well provided on the trip with lots of vegetable bribes.

That photo of them in the carrier box facing away always make me smile. The vet was laughing at them too.

It also reminds me that those three were the last time I got a trio to work. I've had another since but only for a short time.

We stopped off at every services on the way, and they had some food.

When I put them in the cage at the other end they spent the first hour or so crammed under a step stool. I'm surprised they all fit!

Whiplash! As I've now quite Facebook I don't have anywhere to annoy people with my piggy photos so "I'm back".

April 2012, we all moved in with my boyfriend. Everything was going swimmingly. The pigs settled in well, and I was able to find an exotics specialised vet within 20 minutes drive.

Arnold J. Rimmer was getting much better. The vet was happy with the tablets that he was on for his suspected heart condition, and his arthritis wasn't causing any many problems.

But, as my luck usually runs out after a while, the easy run wasn't to remain.

June 8th 2012 - I came home from work and gave the beasties their veg. On coming back into the room I noticed Arnold struggling with a piece of lettuce, his head moving from side to side.

On close inspection it seemed he was having some sort of seizure, and so off to the vet we went. He was kept in overnight and released the next day. Prognosis wasn't great, but they said he was trying to get up.

We took him home and separated him into this own little hospital cage. He tried a few times but there was no way he could walk, his head tilt and already arthritic legs wouldn't work.

But on the bright side he ate anything and everything we left for him.

It was a tough few weeks but he made constant improvement and eventually was able to walk again, even if it was a bit wonky and he had a head tilt still. He also moved back in with Anselmo and Toki.

For a few months things were looking up. His numerous ailments left him prone to bumblefoot, so he spent quite a lot of time having foot soaks. This is him having a snack, whilst sitting in my lunch box.

Image

His left eye went blind really quickly too. You can see from the above photo and the one in the last post. The photos were taken about 3 months apart.

And he aways had his shadow Anselmo to watch out for him when he was in the cage

Pictures are always great!

Can't see them, however (some hosts don't show up on my browser).

I use Photobucket still, but I'm happy to swap to another if anyone has any recommendations. Photobucket is getting harder to use over the years and the Popup Ads are crazy.
