Hi! I have had two female guinea pigs from the same litter for a little over a month now. Everything was going great until a while ago and they have started teeth chattering and scuffling. They haven't drawn blood but I don't know what's going on, it's been longer than any other guinea pigs would take to not get along. Are they just trying to set dominance in the cage? Thanks!

How large is their cage? Lack of space is a major reason for guinea pig aggression.

Also, are you positive they're females? You've turned them over and checked?

I've checked more than twice, I keep thinking that. But they haven't tried mounting each other and I'm not an expert but they look the same and the woman who I bought them from told me they were female also. I even checked their genitalia with my mom's female guinea pigs and they all look the same. I need to get them a bigger cage, but they do it outside the cage also. I'm thinking it's from the lack of space that I am going to fix very soon, but I didn't know.

Two guinea pigs need at least 10 square feet, and more is better.
