O.K., so what´s in this Gentak?

Glad to hear things are diagnosed for now. You may not do any good with BNP, but it can sometimes help. At the very least, it will lubricate the eye! I have also used chloramphenicol, but there are more potential drug side effects. Works nicely on the tougher jobs.

Gentocin is Gentamicin sulfate USP

Sounds kinda close?

Just the Gen is enough. Some companies aren´t very creative when naming their products. There aren´t that many drugs that the veterinary community uses regularly on eyes. Gentocin is one of the more common ones, although we still can´t get Gentocin Durafilm in Northern California. I wonder if they´re coming out with something else. I even know vets who used it for nasal scopes on dogs. A wonder drug for the right usage, I tell you.

I think they are the same but not positive.

Another site seemed to list 3% gentamicin sulfate as the ingredient in gentamicin ophthalmic.

Yeah, I think it´s fine. The most important thing is to heal the eye. If there was a huge problem with your med Josephine would have mentioned it.

Yes, it´s fine. Lynx: They´re all close enough. They aren´t all exactly chemically the same, but for our purposes, they´re the same drug.
