Is anyone familiar with this brand of shilintong from fareastginseng.com?

As I mentioned, there may be different volume mix of herbs for Shilington. Nevertheless, I believe 广金钱草 may be the main herbs. Thus, there is basically 2 categories -
1) Combo Shilington - mix of several herbs (as described above)
2) Simple Shilington - use 广金钱草 as main ingredient
I have found the formula of simple Shilington and will send to Josephine via private mail. Hope this helps.

Josephine, if the Shilintong that Alison e-mails you is one that you would use on your guinea, would you please e-mail to me? It sounds like the one I just ordered is a blend so I guess I've just thrown $12.50 out the window . . . wouldn't be the first time! Glad it was only $6.00 plus $6.50 shipping! Thanks for the info Alison.

Spoke with a co-worker today. She has used TCM herself for her lupus and used to refer clients to a reputable veterinary practice in Utah that did TCM. We'll see. It looks more and more like this is something a TCM practioner will make for each individual patient. Kinda like a homeopath.

Good luck. I can only tell you my experience. Everything I am aware of was done by 3 vets to try and get relief for Angel and nothing but this Shilintong supplement worked.
Here's what was tried over the course of 2yrs:
-3 antibiotics (some for 4-8 wks)
-Numerous urine cultures
-Spay (result of an ultrasound to determine why pain w/urination
-Polycitra k syrup
-Exploratory surgery of bladder (narrowing of urethra was discovered, inflammation of entire genital/urinary tract.
-Culture of bladder tissue
-Culture of vaginal tissue
-Predisone
-Amitryptilline (to try and block pain receptors)
-Dietary change
-Corn Silk and Hydrangea tinctures

Do you recall the dosage of Shilintong that you gave Angel?
-I simply let 1 tablet dissolve in about 2-3 tablespoons of water. Then, I syringed her 1cc twice/day
How soon did you see results?
- within 2 days
Did you keep her on the Shilintong indefinitely?
- yes, until she passed on July 7 while undergoing surgery
to remove an abscess in her abdomen which the vet thinks
may have been caused by a prior surgery or something
that punctured her stomach.

I've used the Far East version (obtained in a store, not through mail order). My piggies actually liked the taste, so I just cut a pill into thirds (when 3 pigs) or in half (when 2 pigs) and gave once a day, only when needed (if someone was whimpering or had sludge, or if I thought maybe I fed too much calcium in the veggies). Gave twice a day (= whole pill) if piggy seemed really uncomfortable. Whimpering generally stopped in a day or two, so I'm a believer that it's helps them eliminate easier.

I'd like to add to this thread, if I may. I, too, am using the brown pills from FarEastGinseng. I dissolve 1 pill in 2cc's of water, as suggested. I have been giving it to my pig, Leo, since he had bladder stone surgery last week. I have no idea if it's working or not.
I also decided to give it to my pig, Boo, who has impaction issues and used to squeek when he would pee years ago. (I never did anything about it, and it never returned.) Within 2 days, I saw a total change in him! Just this morning, I was awoken to the sound of Boo crying and grunting. Here I came to find out, he was trying to pass the BIGGEST impaction I had ever seen, all on his own! I definitely think Shilintong is doing something. What? Who knows!
