My Medicine Box:
Baytril
Benazapril
Simethicone (mint flavour, yuk)
60 mg vit c tabs (that Shopper's doesn't sell anymore)
a ton of syringes in many sizes, some with needles some without
Ivermectin
a big bag of Lactated Ringers Solution
Butterfly cather set
big bag of frozen pumpkin chips for bribes and mash ('cause my pigs are snobs and only eat real pumpkin)
BNP ointment
Vit E oil
Almond Oil
Human knock off of vet wrap
various bandage pads, gauzes and med tape
smaller knock off Q-tips (better for boar cleaning. They fit better then real Q-tips)
mineral oil
scale
Monistat creame
acidophilous
saline solution
1 jar of baby food
Rolled Oats (appitite stimulant for Lina)
Syringe disposal bin (like the ones at the doctors. Canadians can get them free at Shopper's)
Hibitane creme
Betadine
Sadie's Anti Itch Spray (tea tree oil + oatmeal protien)
Baby food jars for mixing oils for Lina's skin
Frozen Pedialyte
Cornstarch (to stop bleeding nails)
Rice Bag heating bags (one small pigloo sized bag. One large human back size that can be used for pig in emergency)

And a big bamboo box to keep it all in since I can't have it clash with the decor and I don't own a medicine cabinet (we use an over the toilet cupboard for human stuff)

All of this has been used in the past 6 months except the BNP.
Some of this has been shared with humans in the past six months (ex. Pedialyte )

Wish List

Real Vet Wrap
Liquid Vit C
Curved tip syringe
Humilac spray
Electric heating device or snuggle safe disc
Pig that will eat canned pumpkin (any one wanna trade?)

Real Vet Wrap is much cheaper than the human knockoff. And it comes in really pretty colors. My 4" wide roll was only $2 at the feed store. They told me humans buy it there for themselves because it's cheaper.

A snuggle safe disk sound good to me too. I really love those curved tip syringes.

Nurgle

Hm.

Lactated Ringers & assorted paraphenalia (14 gauge sterile needles, 23 gauge butterfly catheters, 23 gauge needles, Big Syringe)
Meloxicam
Chloramphenicol
Bactrim
Gentemycin eye drops
Chloramphenicol eye ointment
Lasix
Benazipril (for Ferdinand)
Ivermectin
Ointment of some sort for injuries
Liquid vitamin C
Baby Food
Monistat cream
I had CC but I don't anymore, so I need to order that.
Unflavored instand Pedialyte packs (to be mixed with water)
Povidine
Feeding Syringes
Medicine Syringes
Thermacare heating pads

Holy moly, I had more stuff than I realized!

I find this list extremely helpful also -- moreso than other lists. It is good to know what people actually have. I can group things, put a note about the prescription items and add something to the guide.

Keep posting! I also forgot about my Nizoral shampoo. It works well too.

Mum, that site has great prices for butterfly syringes! Did you have to have an Rx faxed to them?

From your other thread, it sounds like the 23 gauge worked fine.

The Snuggle Safe disks are good, not just post-surgery, but for the colder nights. I have two and put them in at bedtime, one at each end of the sleeping areas.

No, I didn't need an rx. I made a mistake and ordered the 25 sets from here instead of the 23, but judging by the speed at which the LR went in with the 23, the 25 should be ok - and less of a nasty stick for the pig!

Wow I feel out of the loop here. I only have the ivermectin in mine. Pigs are very healthy so we have not had to get anything else. Am I being a pignoramous?

I've seen two people mention Albon.

I want to make it clear that this is not a suitable antibiotic for uri's uti's or almost anything else. I hear it has some benefit for some types of intestinal problems but is pretty useless in general for most bacterial infections.

Don't forget about the cavy health record book.

various syringes for handfeeding and cleansing
leftover ab's (my vet gives me a little extra)
saline and BNP for eyes (usually lasts but is prescription)
critical care in freezer
wound cleansing stuff (eg. clorihexiderm)
nail clippers
scale
charcocaps, beano, simithicone (for gas, OTC)

we already have needles and LRS solution (prescription)
vetwrap would be helpful. we have leukotape in a bind.
