I will take in Piggies
- KarasKavies
- For the love of my girls!
What does a rose haired pig look like? Never heard of one.
I have never breed my guinea pigs like I said she was pregnant when I got her. Also they are in seperate cages so that they do not breed because I have heard by many people that it is a very big hassle. I did mention that I would breed if I had a pair I really like, but that is far away and olny when I can totaly understand about the breeding of guinea pigs and that is also if I ever breed them any ways . I dont breed for the fact that i cant stand to part with the babys.in my 4 years of having rats i have had 2 litters and I have never had a litter of guineas. And in the 3 years of having my pitbulls I have had 1 litter.

I dont know if that is what they are really called but the have the calic's all over .
True, if you love your animals you will not risk their lives by breeding them. There is 20% complication rate for pregnant sows. That is very high risk.
Also you have all your animals in one room? Have the rabbits been checked to see if they carry bordetella or pasturella? Bordetella is deadly to pigs.
You sound very young. Do you have the funds for vet care? Are you in a rental?
Gotta say - your choice of user name is not a great one for a guinea pig forum. Using a breed of dog with a rep for being vicious(whether or not deserved, that is the rep)and an unlucky number (13) results in a name full of belligerence and defiance.
People will react to it. Was that your plan?

I said what animals I have and I do not have any Rabbits. JUST the 2 guinea pigs in their cages. a male mouse in his cage 3 female mice in their cage, 2 female rats in their cage, and 3 male rats in thier cage. And I had my pitbulls before my guinea pigs and I use a pitbull board and I like to use the same name on every board. I like people to know who I am. Well maybe not this board because here people have a problem with me wanting to help animals.I can very well provide for vet bills since I have to provide for the dogs vet bills and they cost a whole lot more. I dont see what you all have a problem with. I was not rude and was just offering to help. I thought I made it clear that any animals taken in are for my pets oly. non breeders. or for the rats and mice non feeders.I did apsolutly nothing wrong. And i never said i was a breeder. breeders breed animals for the money. If people dont want me to have a guinea pig or mouse or rat because I have OUTSIDE IN KENNELS pitbulls fine they can act like children and throw a fit and say I am bad.
Thank you very much I was never sure on the name.like I said I havent had piggies for long. are ther and sites on the board that have info about the different kinds of piggies?
well thanks a bunch

I will take in any unwanted Guinea Pigs, Rabbits, Ratties, and Mice.
I assume the rabbits will be in the same room?

Breeders breed - period.
I can very well provide for vet bills since I have to provide for the dogs vet
bills and they cost a whole lot more.
Guinea pigs require exotic vets(specialists). They are usually more expensive to treat than cats or dogs because there is so little med info about them. Many dog and cat vets don't know how to treat pigs.
I'm guessing you are 14?
As for the name I'm thinking not a lot of pit bull afficionados will be visiting here so recognition of your name isn't really a factor. I am just telling you with a name like that on a board populated with "fluffys" you will get a negative reaction. If people are leery of you, this could be why.
There's lots of info about different breeds if you do a search.

I do know of many vets that do take care of the guinea pigs, And I know very many people who love both pitbulls a guinea pigs rats ect.I am sorry that you have something agianst pitbulls.and no I am not 14 I am 17 and I have my own house my mommy does not support me. I have been emansipated for over a year. I work for my self and pay for everything my self. And really what the hell is your guy's problem. I didnt do anything to you. But do not worry I will not try to help any of your piggies.they are safe with no home in a rescue.I did not want to just collect animals. only if they needed a home. I only want a female and a male so that the 2 piggies I have do not have to live alone.

It's Abyssinians. Sorry, Kara. One more "s."
Yes, I live in Oroville. I agree with many of the concerns put forth by the other board members. Rescuers do not actively look for animals to take in and do not breed. True rescuers, in any case. It has taken me some time to evolve to where I stand right now, and for good reason.
Anyone taking in animals (especially rescues) needs to adhere to the strict standards of their peers. I always invite any rescuers or interested public into my home to see how my own cavies live. I believe (except for the breeding references) that rescues should also adhere to the "Responsible Breeder" article I wrote on www.cavyspirit.com/responsiblebreeder.htm
Check it out. I would also be open to touring your facility, should the offer still stand with my father. Perhaps this weekend? Are you indeed a minor? If so, I know you will need to consult and have me contact your parents/guardians.
Do you mind posting your vet's name?
