New To Guinea Lynx
Welcome to GL! It sounds like you're on your way to being a great piggy parent. Be sure to post pictures of your little guy so that we can ooh and aaah over him.
Well guys, today I had to meet my brother, and he said he had a present for me. When I met him he had a box and handed it to me, when I opened it, there was a baby pig in it. She is the cutest thing. Now I am a proud mother of two.

Be sure to quarantine if your brother got the new piggy from another pet store.

I can't stress how important it is. A minor case of lice and mites has nothing on a full blown URI or a fungal or bacterial infection!

Also,
Isn't your first piggy a boy?
If so, someone may need to be neutered before they can be cage mates. You certainly don't want to start pig breeding.

Yeah I know certinally do not need any babies and wouldn't want to risks involved. I have them seperated for now and I will have to find a pig savvy vet soon.

Ah, I missed the fact the pigs are different sexes.
Your 7-week old boy can't be neutered for quite some time - until his testicles drop (usually).
Male and female pigs can't be put together for a single minute - never. It takes a second for the male to impregnate the female, and there's no way you could stop them.
Are you absolutely sure of the sex of both pigs? Petstores are notorious for missexing animals (oh, and selling sick ones, as you know).

Be sure to ask lots of questions. Let them know that you are better informed than most (the general population) on cavy health. Ask how often they see cavies, and if they have performed neuters as well. If they've performed neuters, ask if they've ever lost any patients. Don't be afraid to be assertive (but polite) with a vet. They'll respect you more for it in the long run.
Good job on keeping them separate! Congrats on your new baby girl! Does she have a name yet?

Well this is soooo crazy. I was told by my brother that he went in and asked how old my pig was and a different lady said that he was about 3 1/2 months, that seems more logical now because his testies are well seen they are not real big but obvious. I found out that my girl was recived from a petsmart but she is tiny. I'm not sure her age but she still has part of her imbellica cord. It is very short and is dried up. I am not sure the date she was born but my brother said that they were in the back and the lady at petsmart said that they were ready to go home. She drinks the water and eats the pellets. So I am asuming that she has been eating pellets and drinking from the bottle for a little while. She doesn't have a name yet though, I had the hardest time finding one for Skeeter. She is a Abyssian also. The first half she is black, with a white stomach and back, and her bottom is also black. She has aa white streak dowm her face. She is adorable. I have the most beautiful babies!!! I am glad that I got her but am a little sad that she wasn't a boy. I have a two story cage for now and they each have their own story so that they can see each other but not come into contact with another. I think that there is a Vet. in the next town that deals with guinea pigs, if not I will have to drive about 30-45 minutes but they are well worth it!! Hope to get picutres soon.
I was wondering......if my new girl came from a litter of 2, one boy, 1 girl......if they are sexually mature yet even though they have umbellica cords? If so is it likely that they could have mated?
I am not sure how much she weighs, I do not have a scale here at home but I am taking her to work to see how much she weighs, what weight should I worry about?
