Edmonton, Alberta area

Dr. Gerald Burant DVM
4816 - 50 Avenue
Beaumont, Alberta (30 minutes outside of Edmonton)
(780) 929-6107

VERY knowledgable about exotics (and all other pets), I have taken my guinea pigs, hamsters and gerbils to him. In fact he was at a clinic in Edmonton where I originally started seeing him, and I make the 30 minute trip out of town every 3 weeks to see him specifically for my hamster's teeth trim. He is very gentle, takes the time to fully examine, and he will also explain anything he finds in detail.

She seems to really know her stuff. She has 7 guinea pigs of her own, and did a wonderful job on Tyrone's neuter.

****PLEASE REMEMBER TO USE THE CORRECT FORMAT!!!

List state first, then city. Otherwise I will never be able to add these to the master list. I see many people have messed up. This makes it infinitely harder to sort your advice.

PLEASE USE THIS FORMAT AT THE BEGINNING OF YOUR POST!!!

Country (if other than US)
State/Province/Region (identifying location that makes sense for you)
City

Just a note to say I updated the sorted hard copy of the vet list today.

It's getting pretty big. PLEASE REMEMBER THIS IS NOT A DISCUSSION THREAD and USE THE CORRECT FORMAT.

It helps greatly if you all keep this clean.

Thanks.

LYNX- I recommended this vet before, but this is their new address, I also added comments. They are not in Westchester anymore.

IL
Elmwood Park

Midwest Bird and Exotic Animal Hospital/ Midwest Emergency Animal Hospital

All of the vets here are very competent and used to seeing pigs on a regular basis. They have done a toe amputation, mass removal, many xrays and blood tests, and euthanasia for me. They also carry Oxbow products incl. Critical care. They also now have emergency services available, and when I leave pigs there overnight I can have these emergency vets check on my pigs often, and call for updates at any time during the night if I want. It's more expensive, though.

---------------------
IL
Skokie

Animal 911 Emergency Clinic

I brought a pig in once, one of the vets gave subcues, AB's, Critical Care. I have heard this is also an exotics vet by day, but haven't been during the day, only during emergency hours.

****It has to be the very first thing in your post. I sort things this way by copying all the code. When you add something extraneous to the first post, it gets sorted differently.

Please start posts with the information requested if you want it included in the vetlist in the future.
