Hello,
My two females (approx.4 months old) gave birth two days apart. Both had three pups. One pup only lived two days; the rest are all healthy. Both moms share their pups. I am noticing that one mother does not seem to nurse the pups as frequently or as long as the other mom. Is this a problem? Should I wait and see? Does the other mommy have enough milk for five pups? Thank you for your advice.

From what I´ve heard, it seems that sharing the duties in this area is fine for all concerned. I have never had two lactating sows together, but I have lost a Mom and had to foster to another one, and have had a few sows feed 5-6 successfully. Just watch to make sure all the pups are growing.
Weighing them every few days will let you know if one or more need extra food.
