My mother rescued a pregnant sow. The story is that the owner got a boar that wasn't a boar and well, we know the rest of the story.
Miss Momma (not to be confused with Momma Cass, who is NOT for adoption) had four lovely little pups on the 26th - three of which are boars. The little sow is staying but the boars and Miss Momma need homes. The babies are not quite weaned yet, but will be available soon.
Pictures are forthcoming. My digital camera decided not to work, so we're waiting on film.
I'm calling the three boars Red, Light Red, and Agouti Red. They all have patches of white on their bodies, and then the other predominant color in their names. They have been handled, but are typically energetic for their age. (Red is particularly tame and sweet and I will have a hard time rehoming him. My husband was afraid I'd smuggled him home.) I would like to keep them together, but they can be seperated to be friends with other boars.
Miss Momma's age is young, but not sure how old. Her nails are still quite sharp. This is apparently her third litter, so it's likely all the early pregnancies stunted her growth. She's about the size of an average 5-6 month old. She's predominantly red agouti with a bit of white. She's used to living with other pigs and will make a great cagemate for another sow or a neutered boar.
By the way, I don't know what Dad looked like, so anything is possible, but right now they all look like Americans. If you don't want a lot of hair-maintenance, these are the pigs for you.
Email me through the board if you are interested. Some transportation available, depending on your location. I may be fostering the little guys myself in a few weeks and will keep this thread updated.

These little guys are still available.
Miss Momma likes to stand on the pigloo and survey her kingdom. She is still smaller than average, but happily sharing space with three other sows (including her daughter).
The three boys are vocal and friendly and settle down once they are caught. They are all fat and sassy. Red seems to be the dominant pig, though, and would do best to be the boss.

Pictures of the crew
Their momma is the pig on the white trash salad bowl pigloo. The other pigs in that picture are not for adoption.

| On these guys, they might as well be racing stripes. Goofy little buggers.

Delmarva is on Maryland's eastern shore *Delaware/maryland/virginia*.
I may be able to help out with transport if someone needs it. I just can't take anymore in at this point in time.

Thanks.
I phrased it that way figuring that locals would get it.
I can't take them permanently, either. Mom is still fostering them, but I will transport, within reason.

Looks like the boys will be coming my way on the 23rd. Any takers, please PM me.
(Momma still needs a home, too.)

| Please see their updated pictures. They turn 6 months old this month, and get cuter all the time. Hint. Hint.

Thank you. That was me.
Their momma is the queen of her white trash pigloo. I realized I didn't specify.
Know anyone thisaway that wants pigs?

You're right -- they do get cuter all the time. Light Red reminds me of my late Lightning. Unfortunately, two's my limit, but I will try to get the word out locally.
I guess they were born at your mom's house -- that's good, you have records on them from the day they were born.

| What an incredibly cute threesome. I love how they look alike, sort of, with a slightly different color.

They are full of personality and spunk and still popcorn. Red was all over the place when I put the hay in last night. It was hilarious.
Yes, they were born there, and will be 6 mo. old next week. Very healthy little guys, with fat bellies and soft hair.
Do let me know if you hear of a good home for them.

In honor of their six month birthday (a few days late), I'm bumping this thread. To be more accurate, it should now say that they are in Delmarva/DC Metro areas.
Red in particular is very sweet, and all of them are fine once you get them out of the pen. Although he's not quite as laid-back as Jules, Red can have floor time with random pigs without a problem. I have been pleasantly surprised at how well they deal with being lap pigs at their age - just let them snuggle in a towel and they are quite content to remain there. Last time he was out, Agouti Red fell asleep.
They have all been handled by kids (older kids), and don't seem to care about cats or dogs, either (although I wouldn't leave them unsupervised with a cat or dog, of course). Miss Momma lives with other sows, so adding her to a herd should not be a problem.

Going up.
These little guys are still in need of a forever home. The dark one, Agouti Red, is hysterical. He is always on top of the pigloo.
