Pistachio's having his eye removed

Pistachio had some strange discharge from his eye on Saturday. Sunday it still didn't look like an emergency so I continued the BNP. By today, his eye looked terrible. He went to the vet who said it needed to come out ASAP. He's staying over and having surgery tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed for him.

He's also having his funky enlarged pore removed off of his back that he's had for over a year.

Poor piggie, in rescue for over 2 years now. Maybe someone will give him a home now that he's special needs aside from his attitude. I know I feel sorry for him!

I'll try to post pics later. My poor camera hasn't been plugged into my computer for months and months.

Yeah, that does look like it has to come out.

Have you ever had a one-eyed pig before? You've had so many I can't even remember.

If you need any help let me know.

Oh, poor thing looks as though his eye is crumpled.

Again, I hope he'll be all right.

Ah, here's hoping it goes smoothly and he recovers well and quickly. That does indeed look as if he'll be better off without.

I've had a blind pig but no one eyed pigs. Someone who used to help out with rescue had a one-eyed pig though. She did perfectly fine in a herd. I think Ralphie will be a fine seeing-eye pig for poor Stashio.

The worse part about this is that his eye looked totally normal itself on Saturday. There was just the discharge from where the tear duct would be.

By Sunday, it was a bit clouded. Then Yesterday. Wow.

Vet just called. Pistachio is doing good, he's out of surgery and already up. Said there was a large mass behind the eye, he removed all of it. Hopefully it won't be back.
