Guinea Pig Epidemic

I am now investigating a reoccurring problem. I've seen pictures throughout the forum indicating that it is truly an epidemic.

The disappearance of limbs in guinea pigs.

Even my own herd has been infected, and it seems to be spreading quickly. Everyday I find more of my guinea pigs infected.

Morris happens to be my worst case ... in which not only have his legs disappeared but it appears that his whole body has been stolen as well.
Image

Honey, Annie, Rose, and Nugget; all legs have gone missing.

Parfait's front feet and right back leg are also gone.
Image

And most importantly where are all these limbs and who is stealing them?!

We are currently trying to gather photo evidence of said problem, any and all photos of this epidemic is greatly appreciated.... ;)

I submit more evidence, no feet whatsoever, just the body. What is going on? Should we be worried?

Its not only happening at nap time here, but also when they are eating!

Image

Staying still for long amounts of time seem to be a good cause to this.
Image

Sleeping, not a good idea if you value your feet.
Image

And NEVER EVER stop by the hay rack.

We've observed that same syndrome but, in our herd at least, the effected animals show an astonishing ability to quickly regenerate the missing appendages.

This thread made me giggle :)

Barnaby seems to be able to join the club!
Ernie believed poking Barnaby in the bum would make his legs reappear, he was correct.

Hmmm. This is a most peculiar epidemic.
Detective Alice seems to have her feet about her. She shall set about finding the thief.
Image

Hot on the trail of the leg stealer, she hits a snag.
The thief bribed her with cilantro and stole her legs.
"Detective Alice apologizes. I can't resist the cilantro."

But, Norbie really looks upset by the loss of limbs.

I think the Easter Bunny might have something to do with it. He must have taken Jasper's legs when Jman was occupied with eggs.

Food appears to be the only cure to the mysterious missing limbs, once the infected piggies hear or see greens or treats their limbs sprout back!

Long haireds are obviously more susceptible to this strange disease. Detective Alice, you should be writing these things down!

Within the few hours of posting this topic, the disease continues to devour my herd and even ... our bunny, Doodlebug!

Here at Casa Chadbourne, we have noticed that sudden sneezing seems to assist in regeneration for short periods of time...

*I'm so gullible. It took way too long for me to understand. I thought it was for real.....*

I've already posted this pic in the bunny thread but I know you all just had to see! It seems Red Bunny has become nothing but a head and torso!

Pigjes,

I am Koda THE Bear. No, I will not tell you where my feet are. That information is classified.

My girls seem to like throwing their 'saxy legs' out so they can be seen. These pictures are so cute of pigs missing parts.

It's serious. Panqueca is disconsolate. She thought that being here, so far away, would give her immunity.
ImageWhat can I do with my saxy legs if I have not front paws?

I told her to keep her back legs safe, but I think it was too late. Poor pig.
Image

I think it's spreading. And it happens slowly... paw by paw.
ImageOMG! My right paw! It's gone!

And this is the proof that it's highly contagious. It's a worse case:

TOOO funny Regiane.

Miss Rosie is very diligent about keeping her limbs. Today though, she lost them. I think one of the dogs saw the limb snatcher. When they barked at it, Rosie got two of her legs back.
