We all could've predicted that reaction.
Poor Angel.

Okay, then we've tried it twice. First dose was small. The recent dosage to give her is .35 once/day.

I was WISHING it was a bladder stone! At least then someone could tell me what it was and it could be fixed.

She's been through 5 surgeries and anesthesia 8 times. If she had a bladder stone I would have expected her to sail right through the surgery.

Anway, she and Sophie turn 5 in 2 weeks. Anybody want to come to their birthday party???

Sophie gave birth to Elsie. It was you Evangeline who gave me the bad news...I posted on CG asking when the "rosettes" were going to appear. You let me know if they weren't there then they weren't coming any time soon! I was so disappointed but now I love this baby just the way she is! She turns 5 April 1st.

Did you ever look closely at the x-rays to see if there's any arthritis on her spine?

We took so many x-rays of Chippy, but it wasn't until the last one that we noticed calcification on her spine. Since then, I've stopped handling her nearly as much and she seems better.

I also noticed, after we saw this on the x-ray, that as soon as I put her down, she would have pain, probably from my handling her. It started making sense to me.

Yup, at Pinta's suggestion months ago her x-rays were checked for arthritis.

Well, Angel had gotten no better, perhaps worse since she was crying from pain every time I watched her pee.

So, I read a few stories from the Guinea Pig Daily Digest that I subscribe too about success some folks had with a chinese herbal medicine called Shilintong.

She's had 4 doses so far and incredibly this morning I watched her pee in sweet silence! I wonder if it could be due to this herb?? Of course I don't always get to observe every time she pees but every morning I take her out of the cage before I go to work and return her before I leave. She always pees and cries when I put her back except for this morning!

Has anybody tried it?

Wow, if you get results with anything, that would be wonderful! I know how much you care about your pigs. And this would be a last resort (one is confident you have not missed anything with all you two have been through).

That is wonderful news. I hope that continues. Can you please share with me the dose and where to buy this medicine so I can try it on Louie? Louie is started to squeel while peeing, as well, and it is killing me. Thanks.

I bought it here:

http://www.fareastginseng.com

I just took a pill and let it sit in about 1/2 tspn of water. Then I filled 2 x 1cc syringes and give her one in the a.m. and one in the evening.

The ingredient is Coin Leaved Desmonium / 19g+

It cost me $12.50 delivered for 100 tablets. What a hoot! Imagine if this ends up to be the cure. I'd be so happy!!

This morning when I put her back in the cage she didn't cry when she peed! Keeping my fingers crossed.
