I am expecting to get two pigs soon and this is my planned menu for them:

Occasional Oranges
Occasional Small Tomatoes
Yellow/Green/Red Peppers
Romaine Lettuce
Celery
Parsley
Baby Carrots

Not all of these will be given everyday, but those are my choices!
What vegetables and fruits do your cavies eat?

All of my piggies LOVE green pepper. Barnaby used to turn her nose at it but now she will gobble it up.

I feed them red/green lettuce or romaine every day. I prefer red or green lettuce but sometimes romaine is all I can get. I also give them green peppers as they are a good source of vitamin c. Parlsey, cilantro and dandelion greens are very popular as well. On an occasional basis, I feed them baby carrots, apples and tomatoes.

My late pig Rufus used to love green peppers too. They were definetly his favorite food.

Fee and Murph (my two females) enjoy:
Red/green leaf lettuce
Butterhead lettuce
Peppers (usually orange or red)
Tomato
Parsley
Carrot

And sometimes (less than once a week):
Orange
Apple
Banana
Blueberries/strawberries

In the summer, they also get:
Fresh grass (from a patch of lawn that isn't fertilized)
Occaisional melons like Cantaloupe and Watermelon
Clover
Dandelion greens

The favourite is, by far, blueberries! Frozen or fresh, usually picked from our own yard. They have more flavour than the regular store-bought blueberries.

Now that I have my pigs a must have is cucumber or zucchini. I don't feed them celery very much, if you do it is important to cut it into small pieces so the strings don't harm them. You are also not supposed to feed carrots too often.

It is really hard for me to find dandelions around my house. We canceled our lawn service, but I still can't find any. There is one tiny plant in the mulch next to my driveway that had one flower on it. I gave my pigs the leaves and flower and they seemed to really like it, as everyone says they do.

Skinandvein, I have never had a chinchilla, but yes, they can eat veggies and fruits. Since I have never had any actual experience with them, I am not sure what specific types or anything exactly.
For dogs, of course, chocolate is NEVER good for dogs and you should never feed your dog(s) anything that has chocolate on it or that is made with chocolate. Dogs usually just have dog food (or my dog does :D ), and sometimes when we are making guinea pigs veggies we will give her a piece of a pepper or something. Hope this helps some...

Yes, I deleted it. Guess I will have to restrict membership until I can figure out some other system.
