The Tales of the Crazy Wheekerland Cavies
A couple of weeks ago I noticed Penny was missing a scrap of fur. They hadn't been fighting (they never fight) and she wasn't scratching, so I assumed that she had just gotten scratched on something. I decided to keep a close eye on her, however.
Two days ago I noticed that Bailey, too, had a scratch in same exact spot. I didn't realize it was a scratch, however, I just though his fur was fluffed up the wrong way.
Today, I looked closer at it and realized it was a V-Shaped scratch looking thing in the same exact spot as Penny's scratch. Her's, too, had obtained a V-shape.
Does anyone have any idea what this is about? I'll take some pictures in a moment.

We got them checked up on, they have lice, not mites.
Phew! I'm glad that that's it, because it will require much less treating and their first treatment is happening this weekend. Also, I don't think that lice is deadly, while mites can be.
They are at the pigsitter right now but will be home in a few days. That is where they will be getting their treatment, as the pigsitters are cavy experts.
For now, I have no pictures, but when they get home they will be having an actual photo shoot.

Thanks, Lynx! I'll check with the pigsitter when we go to pick them up today to see what they used, and, if it is pyrethrin, I will use one of the other ones you mentioned for next treatment.
Here is some time in the cleaning temp. cage-

Bailey, with his saxxy leg.
Penny is sticking her nose in the air like she just doesn't care- guest-starring Bailey's butt!
Bailey, taking a rest, and Penny, who was looking around like "Mommy, where's the food?"
And Penny, sniffing Bailey, who I guess smelled like carrots.
"I found it! I found the pellet noms! Bailey, c'mere!"
