I have been an unfailing supporter and admirerer of Nancy Pelosi. She knows what she is doing. That the Democrats have taken the house and will finally do the job that Republicans have failed at is inspiring. I can't wait to see the results of their work.
That article was good. Too often tv clips miss too much. This was better than most.

Couldn't stomach watching the State of the Union address last night, but we checked in occasionally just to watch Nancy Pelosi's reaction to some of the BS Trump was spewing (including his call for an end to "ridiculous" investigations). Her 'applause' at the end pretty much says it all:

I ran across an excellent gif that caught one of her reactions. Pelosi is fab.
Watch for deconstructions of the trump speech listing his lies. I did not listen to it either (was terribly long) but waited until Ms. Abrams was on. She was an inspiration and hit all the right notes.

Where else but “Pigs ‘n Politics” to talk about last night? Stacey Abrams has my vote. And I’m hoping today’s mainstream news continues to reveal the repeated and outright lies in the orange one’s speech. It frightened me how well the speech was written (not by my standards) and how low he stooped to gain sympathy for himself: children with cancer and Holocaust Survivors? Too much.
I dont feel I can comment too much on the state of US politics given the fact that that UK politics is in just as big a mess.
However in the UK the phrase "Pigs 'n Politics" has a whole other, less wholesome, connotation

Agree.
Anyone see this gem? From Huffington Post:
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) exposed some of the biggest flaws and loopholes in campaign finance laws this week ― and she did it in just five minutes.
During a hearing, the freshman lawmaker created a game in which she pretended to be “a really, really bad guy” who wants to abuse the system as much as possible. Then, in a series of questions, she exposed the world of payoffs, dark money, PACs and more. She even revealed how it was perfectly legal for a lawmaker to invest in an industry, then write laws to benefit that industry and increase the value of the investment.
And as lax as the laws are for members of Congress, there are even fewer restrictions for a president.
