I did a search and really didn't come up with much. Sorry if this is repetitive, but I have to get out to the horses to cold hose, and wrap one. Anyway, the little foster gp beasts won't eat red pepper. I have Oxbow Vitamin C treats, but I George does not seem to eat them and I think Nuggets gets both.
Trying to come up with something they will eat that will give enough C to keep them healthy. They look great now, so maybe the pellets are enough? I have always supplemented all my pigs with a bit of red pepper daily and any other greens they got that had it and it's always been fine.

Ok, gotta run. TIA for any info. I will make a point of checking back and trying to update.

Have you tried other types of peppers? My guys like the yellow and orange peppers, as well as red (but not green). Links to food lists with vitamin C, etc., can be found here:

Otherwise, a good quality, fortified pellet really should be enough. Sometimes my guys get the little Oxbow Vitamin C biscuits as a treat.

Piggies are fickle with vitamin C.
Lacey loved the Oxbow wafers. She would grab them and run into a hidey so no one could take it away from her. That was her favorite treat. Gidget would nibble the edges, drop it and forget it. So I mixed vitamin C drops, water and a little CC and offered a syringe every day. Most days she would take the whole syringe (1 ml.) Millie kind of likes the vitamin C wafer if I hold it for her. She likes it better if I put a few drops of water on it first, but it's not her favorite.

I think at one point I tried a few drops of apple juice or watermelon juice on the wafers, and Gidget liked that for a while, but then lost interest.

I had forgotten another product that I have used in the past when needed. It is the Oasis Vitamin C Mist. [Lynx, perhaps you can change the link with the GL affiliate code?] [... EDIT Lynx: I think I was successful in doing so.]

I just spritz it on lettuce or other veggies and it seems to work really well. The downside is that it's hard to know precisely how much vitamin C they're getting in a spritz, but if you're supplementing more as a preventive vs. treating scurvy, it should be adequate.

Lynx- I didn't remember that chart also had vitamin C listed too. I will go check. I will see if the orange or yellow might work, they hate the green too. Thank you.

ItsaZoo-only one of these monsters like the wafers. I wish they both did, it would be so easy. I did think of syringing part of a vitamin c tablet, maybe that might be good too.

Sef-Hmmm, never saw that before. I think along with other stuff, this might just be a good thing. IF they eat the vegs! It is certainly worth a try. Thanks!
