Pet Stores that just sell supplies.

Is there a listing already out there for pet stores that only sell pet supplies(not live animals)?

In B.C., Canada, Bosleys´ sells supplies only. (I did check with their corporate head office.)

In the San Franciso Bay Area it is Pet Food Express.

They are very rescue friendly and they don´t sell ANY animals. I hit them up in my hometown today to do a Hollister Guinea Pig adoption awareness afternoon to screen for adopters. Very nice to deal with. Complete antithesis to Petco. Their prices are a bit higher on some things but worth it from an ethical standpoint. My local Feed and Farm ( Livermore Feed and Farm)also does not sell animals and is good for hay, ivermectin and bulk supplies.

Nobody locally sells Oxbow. I have to order it through my vet. .

Actually, the Pet Food Express in San Leandro has just started carrying Oxbow Timothy in very small quantities. I had asked long ago if they would, but haven´t had a chance to followup with them. I´m wondering if they´re doing a test run to see if it sells.

They also give me a 20% discount on all guinea pig supplies because my girls go to school with me. They are great.

VCA in Oakland also sells Oxbow hay and Cavy Cuisine. I get mine there when I forget to order on-line soon enough.

I´ve wanted to have a database of such stores. If we could start a running list here, that would be great. I could later get them transferred to a database which could be added to over time by others. I would like all the store contact info. Name, address, phones, websites, and any other pertinent info, like if they specialize in something, hours, etc. But contact info at a minimum.

In Gettysburg and Hanover, Pa. Pet Valu sells only supplies. In Chesapeake, Va. Pet Discount is a huge store that sells everything but the animals.

I was in a Pet Supplies Plus in Monroe, Michigan. They did not sell animals. They did have timothy hay, but not pellets.

Addresses and phone numbers would be good. Phone numbers at the minimum. Maybe Lynx can throw them into the right posts.

Sounds like this is a job for Teresa (when she´s not busy - ha!). I don´t know how to do that kind of thing. The best would be a searchable database by zip but this may be overkill.

I do think there are numerous pet supply (only) stores out there. We have Pet Food Discounters . It sells only supplies.

If you want to be really clean on this, you would not include stores supplying fish either.

Wildwood Veterinary in San Jose carries Oxbow products (including Critical Care) and some other items for several different animals.
