Not eating after vet visit

I don’t know about guinea pigs, but when heart disease was suspected in our dog, the vet started furosemide and said if symptoms improved, they would continue the medication. Otherwise, they would do more tests. He didn’t have any fluid in the lungs, but he had a mild heart murmur. Then they added Vetmedin and enalapril. The vet didn’t do any imaging. The meds and dosages are pretty standard. So I think it’s reasonable to ask to try the meds and see if your guinea pig improves.
He does have some of the symptoms, specially lethargy. Is as if he wants to eat, but he is just too tired to do it. He sleeps deeply all day, and if I try to make him walk around a little, after 5 minutes he just lays down and falls a sleep wherever he is...he just can't manage to find the energy to stay awake.
I did ask the vet about heart meds at our last two visits but he says he thinks it's not related. We have the appointment in two hours and I will definetly insist that we have to start the medication right now. We have nothing to lose as the vet is already talking about putting him to sleep.
