There’s no cutting back on the coffee. If you like peppermint and have a Macy’s nearby, they have a peppermint candy coffee that is wonderful. I stocked up when it was on sale.

Ruby Sue is back to normal again. I suspect the ruffly leaf lettuce from the 4-pack I get at Aldi’s. She had a small amount of romaine, about the size of a small size Post-It note. Carrot slivers don’t seem to be a problem. She’s wheeking for food, eating hay, and just ran zoomies.

Glad to hear things are back to normal!

There’s no cutting back on the coffee.

I so agree! Hey, I do like peppermint (all mints) but no Macys nearby. I tend to drink to giant cups of coffee in the am and at that time of day, almost would not know what I was drinking so long as it had caffeine in it.

I don’t know what’s going on around here. This morning Ruby Sue was her usual self, eating well and normal output. This anfternoon annd evening her cage is way too clean the the hay pile is too neat. So tonight I gave her some BeneBac and then a few syringes of CC.

She feels kind of puffy to me. I’m hoping this is just a reaction to veggies and fresh grass, she has issues from time to time. I hate to think there’s something with my hay or pellets that’s the cause.

I’m trying to get her moving around more. She’s in her huge playpen with a few hideys that she’s been rearranging.

It can be maddening trying to figure out the "cause" of changes we observe. I hope this is temporary and she is back to her normal self soon.

Well, this morning Ruby Sue is eating hay and she left a bunch of smelly poos in the cage. I guess she’s telling me that she feels better. I gave her BeneBac again this morning. So maybe this was a reaction to veggies like she’s had in the past.

It’s been nerve wracking. Our old dog is a handful with his heart meds, thyroid, and nasty temperament as he doesn’t want to be bothered. His wellness exam is coming up and vaccinations are due, so I’m going to have to find out what is absolutely necessary. And he needs a clip but he goes ballistic so I’ve been sneaking up on him and scissor trimming every day. Poor old guy looks a mess.

It sounds like your pets are a real challenge! Even crankier as they get older (like me!).

Yes, crankiness comes with age!

"Yes, crankiness comes with age!"

I second that. ;)

I have some concern about Ruby Sue. She seems to be chewing her food differently. I gave her a few leaves of some frilly baby lettuce which she grabbed and about halfway through she started moving it around in her mouth like she got it stuck in her cheek. So I’ve been watching her more closely and I’ve seen her do this a few times with different food.

I’ve been weighing her, weight is steady. She’s eating her vitamin C tabs and pellets. She always liked orchard grass more than Timothy. Now I’m wondering if it’s because the grass is softer and the strands are longer making it easier to eat.

Her front teeth are nice and even, but she’s a bar chewer. No telling if she did something to her teeth a little farther back where I can’t see.

You are so observant. I hope this is nothing to worry about.
